Early in my career, there were people who supported me with no agenda other than to give back. Now it’s my turn.
Getting connected with this generation of Cal Poly students is remarkable. They are smart, motivated and curious. I’m comfortable sharing my experiences, even the early missteps, with them. They soak it all in, and their enthusiasm and respect for those around them is contagious.
I see students at the SLO HotHouse, working with professors and students from other schools within the university, and I realize Cal Poly has something special.
It’s exciting to be around leaders with energy and ideas that will help students beyond the university’s borders and far into the future. The professors I work with really understand that entrepreneurship is essential to a university dedicated to the Learn by Doing philosophy.
Being a part of Cal Poly CIE is refreshing; it gives me hope for the future.
